Discover the Bundox Safari Explorer Camp, a hidden gem in the wilderness of Hoedspruit, close to the Kruger National Park. This intimate lodge offers an authentic safari experience, returning to the basics of exploring nature.
Optimal safari experience
After thorough research, the team of Bundox Safari Explorer Camp discovered what makes a safari truly special and essential for an unforgettable experience in the South African bush. This includes comfortable accommodation, excellent culinary experiences, relaxation options, a refreshing pool, breathtaking views, hospitable staff and the ideal environment for wildlife watching.
At Bundox Explorer Camp they listened carefully and responded perfectly to these needs. Located in a remote location, the lodge offers an intimate and simple atmosphere where you sleep under the canvas in the wilderness of South Africa.

Spend the night in the wild
The exclusivity of this South African accommodation is emphasized by only four tents, so you can share a maximum of eight people. Although the tents are next to each other, each tent offers a sense of privacy thanks to smart positioning. Each tent has a comfortable double bed with fresh linen and duvets. In addition, extra blankets are available for colder nights.

Each tent is equipped with its own bathroom including toilet. Although the tents only have cold water, guests can take hot showers upon request from the staff. They then provide hot water that is made available via a bucket system. While not ideal, especially in winter, it does add to the ultimate adventure safari experience.

All essential details have been taken care of. From handy sockets to mosquito repellent, every aspect is there. In addition, the safari tents have a small wooden terrace with comfortable chairs, for a beautiful view of the camp.
Experience the wilderness
You will enjoy a game drive adventure twice a day. In the early morning the day starts with coffee at camp, followed by an exciting drive just before sunrise in the Olifants West area of the Greater Kruger National Park. Here nature dictates the experience, it is not a zoo, but a real wilderness. The breathtaking sunrise is a spectacle. During this morning ride you will enjoy a ‘bush coffee’ in one of the world’s most beautiful places. A delicious homemade breakfast awaits you upon your return, after which you can spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Spot the Big Five
In the late afternoon you will get back into the safari jeep for an exciting search for the Big Five. During the drinks moment you will again be spoiled with delicious drinks and various snacks, while you enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

In this area you certainly have the opportunity to spot the Big Five. Keep your ears and eyes open because who knows, you might see one of these beautiful wild animals.
TIP: Whether you visit South Africa in winter or summer for a safari, don’t forget to bring warm clothes. The mornings and evenings can be quite cold, especially if you are in an open jeep.
Leisure activities at Bundox Explorer Camp
Although the camp itself is small and you are not allowed to leave the site unaccompanied, it offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy this place. It is the ideal opportunity to take in the surroundings. Between safaris you can take a relaxing shower (with cold or warm water) or use WiFi. But the highlight is undoubtedly relaxing on the pool deck overlooking the wildlife watering hole. The pool is not large, but it is the perfect place to spot elephants as they come to drink at the water spot. There is also an honesty bar, where you can get your own drink.

Small family of staff
During your stay at Bundox Explorer Camp, you are guaranteed to develop a strong bond with the team. The chef is ready to prepare delicious meals and snacks, with special attention to various diets. The camp manager ensures that you will not lack anything, and you will be spoiled with care and attention. Don’t forget the experienced guides, who will lead you safely through the wilderness and share all their knowledge about nature and the beautiful animals you encounter.
