Diary of a solo traveler part 2

Diary of a solo traveler part 2

Since living in Japan with my loved one, I started traveling solo. From short daily trips and weekend trips to multi-day holidays. This time I am going to Thailand alone, and I would like to share my experiences and thoughts as a solo traveler with you. Welcome to my Diary of a Solo Traveler!

Unprecedented wanderlust

I often wonder where my wanderlust comes from. Although I don’t come from a family of travelers, I have always enjoyed our vacations. So we went camping in Europe and I experienced my first time flying. Whether it was the Route du Soleil, a flight to Greece, or a covered wagon tour through Drenthe, I enjoyed it. I feel the excitement of a new country every time.

Tropical island

My passion for traveling really started when I chose the Hotel School. My goal was to do an internship in the Caribbean. When I was seventeen, I crossed the Atlantic Ocean independently for the first time and lived on Bonaire for six months. This experience was wonderful! After graduating, I immediately returned to this tropical island. Unfortunately it wasn’t as fun as the first time. This taught me that it is better not to return to places where you already have beautiful memories. It will never be the same as the first time. Still, I’m glad I did it, because this adventure was the start of many more wonderful journeys!

Conscience

I am now almost 35, and although I started traveling early in addition to holidays with my parents, I often think that I should have realised earlier what the world has to offer. That’s why I now make optimal use of my mid-thirties self and my consciousness to enjoy every moment extra. Whether I’m walking through the streets of Tokyo, visiting the Netherlands, or sitting alone on a tropical island, I enjoy it to the fullest. Because I have such a beautiful, travel-loving life! Cheers!
